Slotskælderen hos Gitte Kik

Located in an 1797 building at Fortunstræde 4, Slotskælderen has been a Copenhagen lunch institution since the Kik family took over in 1910; the "Kik" name comes from the original tavern keeper who kept watch for who entered. The flæskestegssandwich is loaded with thick-cut pork, shatteringly crispy crackling, and braised red cabbage in a soft bun; arrive before 12:30 as the day's joints sell out once crackling is gone.
