The Højbro Plads Christmas market runs through November and December and is one of central Copenhagen's most scenic outdoor markets, with wooden stalls selling æbleskiver hot from cast-iron pans right on the square. The stand-up format means no wait for a table — grab a bag of six, dust them with icing sugar, and add jam from the condiment station. Evening visits after 18:00 are the most atmospheric, with the lights of Christiansborg reflecting off the canal nearby.
