Tai Tung Bakery has been making pineapple buns since 1943 and is widely cited as the oldest surviving pineapple bun bakery in Hong Kong. Tai Tung produces around 1,000 buns daily on a 24-hour dough cycle, with an almost cotton-soft interior under a sugary, brittle crust; the shop also sells wife cakes and mooncakes.
